Verbenone and MCH are not conventional pesticides and are not toxic to animals or the environment. Instead, Verbenone and MCH replicate very specific insect pheromone signals that are used by target insects to indicate the suitability of a plant as a host. They send a "No Vacancy" signal to attacking insects.
